Characteristic of Medical Service

 Established since 1982, Department of Urology was a part of Division of General Surgery initially and was chaired by Dr. Wen-Chung Ho as first Chief of Department.  Because Dr. Ho went aboard, Dr. Chin-Chiang Yang took over the Chief role in 1985.  Because of expansion of medical service, Department of Urology was promoted to Division of Urology in 1986.  In 1987, Dr. Chin-Chung Yeh was promoted to Attending Physician.  In 1988, Dr. Shin-San Chang, came from Mackay Memorial Hospital, joined our Attending Physician team.  In the same year, Division of Urology introduced the first extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy in Central Taiwan area.  In 1989, Dr. Wen-Chi Chen was promoted to Attending Physician.  In 1990, Dr. Chou-Huang Tsai was promoted, but quitted the position in 1991.  In August 1995, Dr. Hsi-Chin Wu came from Taichung Veterans General Hospital, joined our team and became Chairman of our Division.  In the same year, Dr. Chin-Chiang Yang became Chairman level of consulting doctor and continuously provided his service.  Dr. Chao-Hsiang Chang, came from Jen-Ai Hospital, joined our Attending Physician team in 2001 and became Chainman of our Division in August 2002. Ex-Chairman, Dr. Hsi-Chin Wu, was promoted to the Dean of Department of General Affairs Administration in China Medical University and in August 2004, was transferred to become Dean of school of Medicine in China Medical University.  Currently, Division of Urology has one Chairman of Division and 10 Attending Physicians.  Out of those, Dr. Hsi-Chin Wu serves concurrently as Chief of Department of Urological Oncology, Dr. Shin-San Chang holds a concurrent position as Chief of Department of Pediatric Urology, Dr. Wen-Chi Chen serves concurrently as Chief of Department of General Urology, Dr. Chao-Hsiang Chang holds a concurrent position as Chief of Department of Women’s Urology, and Dr. Chin-Chung Yeh serves concurrently as Chief of 13C Ward.

Under CMUH’s great support and general public’s trust, the quality and quantity of medical treatment performed by our physicians in Department of Urology have significantly increased.  Whoever involved, CMUH, physicians, nurses, and technicians, all are very proud of our achievements.  They are fully dedicated to continuously improving the quality of medical service.
